Never a lesson on its own.
Always a friend beside it.

A child does not sit still for a sermon, but they will sit with a friend. That is what our companions are for. Each one is a small, familiar face that turns a moment of faith into a moment of company, so scripture is never something a child faces alone.

Hover the companions
The first three years

They grow. The companions walk the whole way.

A baby changes completely four times before they turn three. Every stage needs something different from a book, and the same three friends are on all of it.

Where to find them

The pieces they live on

Every companion appears on the pieces that suit them. The meerkat keeps watch on the covers, the lamb sits on the gentle pages, and the cactus carries the name.

Wilder Blommetjies

Wilder means untamed. Blommetjies means little flowers.

Put together, it is a picture of a child: small, unruly, growing in whatever ground they find themselves in, and blooming anyway. Our companions are each a different way of saying that same thing to someone too young to read it.
